After nearly an entire summer of shrugging the concept off, I've finally gotten this blog up and running. In addition to the self-serving purpose of needing an outlet for my thoughts, I do think this could be a fun and entertaining look at the current state of the world we live in, viewed through the lens of media viewed through the lens of me. Here's the kind of stuff that I want to try and explore with this blog:

• Movie reviews: Was the movie good? Was it bad? Will it succeed or fail regardless of its quality? As a movie theater employee, I get to see most recent releases on a poor budget, but I know what it's like to spend redonkulous amounts of money to see the new silver screen event. I want to let others know which movies I think are worth it and which ones absolutely are not.
• Music reviews: I don't listen to as much new music as I used to, but maybe with the motivation of this blog, I can get back into it. There's so much out there and a wide array of styles and moods, so it will be impossible to review everything out there. The idea is to review music that I personally am into, or music that I personally don't get at all. Hopefully some of my tastes will overlap with yours.
• TV show reviews: I like TV a lot, and I'm always trying to get into a new show. I'd like to review shows as a whole and, for the ones that I particularly enjoy, individual seasons and/or episodes. If I'm able to do episodes, I might even consider a rating system, to be used to compare one episode's quality to that of other episodes in the same show.
• Stuff that intrigues me: Every once in a while I stumble upon something weird, or interesting, or hilarious that I just really want to talk about. I'll bring this to your attention on the assumption that at least one other person will care about this random stuff.
• Random musings about the nature of whatever: sometimes in a slumberless night, I feel the need to just babble about and about with no endgame in mind. So as not to offend anyone that wants this blog to actually have a purpose, I will try to keep this to an absolute minimum.

The blog will be updated on no real schedule; if there's something new to be reviewed and I have time to write it, I will. Hopefully this will be a few times a week, but it's entirely possible that some weeks could have only a single entry or, if I'm super busy with others things, none at all. I want the blog to be prolific and timely, so hopefully there won't be too many droughts of content.
